On way to Airport in Satorini
A very nice couple from Georgia offered us a ride this morning, their names are David and Stacey. Thank you!
At the airport, if you have a baby you can go ahead of the line on aeagen Airline. Very nice to know.
We will have a 3 hour lay over in Athens an then about 1 and half flight to Myknos.

In Athens Airport
We are now waiting in the Athens airport and for the first time I am using free Internet, yeah:)
A very nice couple gave us a ride to the airport so not too many complications so far. American people seem to be friendlier then the Greeks.
We have enjoyed our time in Santorini and able to get around very easy (mostly walking). Nick at the Sunset hotel was very nice, and our room was in a great location to everything. The best part was the view, outstanding.
So far I have noticed a few things;
Greek women are not fat, in fact I have not seen one yet, only Americans.
The food is mostly starch, breads and pasta and oil. Little fruit and vegetables.
The weather is great with very little rain but with high humidity the grapes and vegetation is watered by the mist in the early mornings.
The vines of the grapes are coiled around and flat on the ground because of the lack of rainfall. This explains why I was very surprised by the desert look when we first arrived in Athens. They say they may see snow once every ten to 15 years.
The clothing material is light and airy which allows for one to keep cool when it is hot and dry very quickly from the damp air.Photographing, shopping, site-seeing, one museum (which was great), dinning and the view of the caldera leaves us with appreciation that we were able to visit this beautiful place. I look forward to our less then 24 hour visit to Mykonos and later to Athens. Jan and I are doing great, we love and miss everyone.P.S. I did find out that if I had turned on my data to roam I would have been able to use my phone. At&T did not explain this to me.

A Breath Taking Winery View
I wish we sat here for lunch for two hours instead of the Black beach, much better view with a windy cool breeze. I did not care for the three wines that we tasted. I do not recommend this tour. Yesterday much better. Both booked from Sun Time Tours in Santorini. Too commercial for me.
We leave at 5:45 am tomorrow morning. I hope to get photos if sunset from our room with tripod. Did not have time to view mine from boat yesterday. I have run out of hard drive space and burned 4 DVD's so far. Santorini is a beautiful island. I hate to leave so soon!

3:45 lunch at Black Beach
The Best resturant was just ok, a tourist haven to help the locals. This Suntime Tour so far is not impressive, but maybe the winery will be better the last leg of the tour.
I did find out why I can"t seem to find an open church; there are over 525 churches in Santorini, most of them privately owned and only open one day of the year. The churches are built and dedicated to a saint so on the feast day if that saint, the church doors Re open to the public. Natural Light Photography

First full Day in Santorini
The morning started at 6:00 am with morning photos. 8:30am was a nice Greek breakfast of hard boilled egg, cheese, ham, bread, coffee and orange juice.
As we headed into Fira we signed up for a schooner boat trip to the volcano and sunset in Oia. We also booked a bus trip tomorrow to the other side of the island. A cable car took us to the boat and back.
Now time to relax and enjoy a good meal.
