3 Days Left to Pack!

Early this morning I after repacking my backpack I decided to take my Nikon D200 camera and not my comfortable and very familar Canon D20 camera. This will be the first photography trip that I will not have my Canon with me (except my small pocket Canon). This turned out to be the biggest decision to make to my surprise, but will allow me to get more familar with my Nikon ( that in the past I have only use for weddings). I will be packing my 17 - 55mm f/2.8 lens but I have not commited to bringing my heavy 70 - 200mm f/2.8 VR lens yet. I am talking with Calagaz Photo to consider alternate option to my long lens.

To solve my carry on bag restrictions (for Aeagen Airlines) I have decided to check 1 bag in and carry my backpack and camera bag. Aeagen allows only 1 carry on bag ( 22 x 15. 7 x 7.8, max 17 lbs) so if they have a problem with my camera bag I have come up with a plan. My plan is to put my camera bag inside my backpack. I can do so by taking the extra change of clothes that I will have in my backpack and wear them. I will be traveling via Delta to Athens in jeans and a t-shirt but my backpack will have a skirt (needed for churches in Greece) and a button up shirt so that I can just put those over my existing clothes. I will probably be over my weight restrictions so I will have to pay 2 Euros for every kilo I am over.

Well, I am a little less stress after resolving most of my packing issues (except the long lens).

So until tomorrows post, Αντίο!

Five Days to Pack

I spent most of the weekend testing my cameras to see which one to bring. My Nikon took beautiful photos at the beach with a short lens of 17 - 55 mm. A little too short so I my also take my Canon with multiple lens that I take on all my trips. The only problem with this camera are the dust spots ( hard to remove ).

Ten Days Before Flight

We are just 10 days away from our flight to Greece and wow, I am in panic mode. I can't decide what equipment to bring. We are flying Business which allows me two small carry on bags with Aegean Airsway but they have very strick weight limits. I wanted to take my Canon camera and my Nikon camera with my laptop and other cables and so forth. I could probably get all of this in the two bags but this does not leave me any room for clothes. What is a girl to do? I really don't want to check in a bag.

I have already had my haircut and a pedicure but I made need a massage just to relax before I go. This is a crucial weekend to make sure I have everything I need because I would not have much time to buy or order other equipment. The good news is that we are going to the beach this weekend and I can shoot photos to make sure all my equipment is working.

20 Days Before We Fly To Greece

The weather in Athens looks about the same as where we live with less rain. Yeah:)

24 Days Before Flight!

We will be flying into Athens, the capital of Greecs and then take a flight to Santorini. Not sure if we will be flying from Eleftherious Venizelos Airport, the newly constructed one which is a bout a 40 minute taxi ride from the center of the city. If we had chosen a ferry to the island of Santorini, we would have gone to the ancient port city of Piraeus.

27 Days Before We Fly to Greece

I am on my way to church and I was wondering what Catholic church will we be attending in Greece. One of my favorite things to do when traveling is visiting and attending mass at a foreign church.

 Have a great day!
